“Stalking Education in the Wild” is back! During the weekend of October 12-14, 2012, this active, dynamic outdoor workshop will again be hosted by Sanborn Western Camps and Colorado Outdoor Education Center at The Nature Place in Florissant, Colorado.
The workshop is designed for classroom teachers, summer camp leaders, parks and recreation naturalists, university students and for anyone who wishes to share the out-of-doors with others. It also provides many opportunities for those who are interested in learning more about the geology and natural history of Colorado.
So, let’s go outdoors on our 6000 acre campus in Colorado’s high country! Many of the educational sessions will be taught experientially and with many options in each time block, there will be something for everyone. During the workshop, we will have ample opportunity to appreciate the wonders of our planet and particularly the beauty of Colorado. We’ll take time to watch sunsets, walk through the hills, listen to the wind, gaze at the stars and explore forests, meadows and ponds.
As always, spontaneous experiences among program participants will enhance the scheduled sessions. The opportunity to share ideas with other educators is a valuable aspect of the weekend; come prepared to contribute as well as to learn!
We hope that you will join us!
